PEN-340 Polarization Absorption Ratio Tester

PEN-340 is an instrument specifically designed for high-capacity testing of polarization maintaining (Polarization Maintaining, PM) components, such as fiber array units (Fiber Array Units, FAU) and external laser small form-factor pluggable modules (External Laser Small Form-Factor Pluggables, ELSFP). This instrument measures a polarization extinction ratio of up to 30 dB and a polarization angle by rotating the polarizer in front of the high-speed power meter. At the same time, it can also measure the insertion loss (IL) of passive components or the output power of active components. The unique optical design of PEM-400 enables it to measure an entire multi-fiber connector or fiber array (FA) without repositioning the tested device (Device Under Test, DUT) or using an alignment platform. The standard detector diameter of PEM-400 is 3 mm, which allows it to perform multi-channel polarization extinction ratio automated measurements faster than any other commercial solution. For example, a 12-core fiber DUT can be measured in less than 30 seconds.
